Use of Ionising Radiation is an essential part of the Veterinary Sector with several applications including Diagnostic Imaging in small animal practices and veterinary hospitals (e.g. Use of Conventional X-Rays Imaging, Computed Tomography (CT) Scans and C-Arm Fluoroscopy), Ambulatory X-Ray Diagnostics for Equine/Large Animals, use of Radiopharmaceuticals including Treatment for Feline Hyperthyroidism using I-131, Scintigraphy using Tc-99m, Radiosynovectomy using Sn-117m and Radiotherapy (Gamma and X-Ray).

L2 are an HSE-recognised Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA) Body with a number of veterinary clients. From L2’s active membership in the Society of Radiological Protection (SRP) and contributions to HSE RPA Meetings we ensure application of the current best practices in radiation protection in veterinary sector for our clients.
