Use of Ionising Radiation is an essential part of the Healthcare Sector  with several applications including Diagnostic Imaging (e.g. Use of Conventional X-Rays, Digital Radiography, Computed Tomography (CT) Scans, C-Arm Fluoroscopy, Mammography, DEXA Scans) as well as radiotherapy (Gamma, X-Ray and Linac) and radiopharmaceuticals (including manufacture).

L2 are an HSE-recognised Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA) Body with a number of clients working within the Healthcare Sector including those that provide Diagnostic Imaging services, those entering other organisation’s X-Ray Suites (Radiation Controlled Areas (RCAs) in a technical support capacity (e.g. technical support to clinical staff and Service Engineers) as Outside Workers, those involved in the  production and use of radiotherapy and radiopharmaceuticals.

From L2’s active membership in the Society of Radiological Protection (SRP), Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM) and contributions to HSE RPA Meetings we ensure application of the current best practices in radiation protection in the industry for our clients.
