Education

Radioactive substances are used in secondary, further and higher education as an invaluable physics teaching tool. Low activity sealed sources, radioactive substances, and demonstration equipment provide safe and effective tools for illustrating the principles of radioactivity, nuclear physics and radiation protection. When used responsibly, these demonstrations enrich the learning experience and help inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers.

Education

As well as the use of radioactivity for teaching, school sites can also encounter issues with the potential for Radon Gas exposure to employees and students.

At L2, we stay aligned with current legislation, guidance, and best practice for the education sector. As an HSE-recognised Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA) Body and active members of the Society for Radiological Protection (SRP) to ensure our clients benefit from the latest best practices in radiation protection and lessons learnt from across the Education Sector.

By working with L2 Business Consulting, schools, colleges, and universities can have confidence that their use of radioactive substances for teaching and demonstration is safe, compliant, and inspiring for students.
